How to feel in control in an uncertain world.

Updated: Jul 14, 2021

What I know for sure, is that in this life, nothing is ever certain. When you venture into the world, with the notion that tomorrow is not guaranteed & you truly have to change the way you think & really be grateful for what you have, life will change for you.

I believe collectively we have all experienced a sense of loss in some way shape or form. Especially the last year that has seen us through COVID 19 & still the uncertainty continues.

More now, do we feel the notion that nothing is in our control, and it can feel like we are on this roller coaster and we can't get off! I certainly have felt the anxiety creep in, trying to keep my head above water, cramming in as much as I can in a day, trying to do too much for everyone else & we tend to forget the self care that everyone is talking about. I too have felt the tipping point.

In these moments, I go back to the question: What can I control?

To be honest, there is not much you can do about what is happening in the world, but you CAN control how you respond to it.

As I am writing this, I have decided to take time off, and go inward. Share more kindness into the world & to the people & friends that will really need it! That is an area of my life I have full control of.

Tip:

When you see the world around you going crazy & it feels completely out of control, here are my top Tips for you to consider.

  1. Take time out from Social Media or any platforms that can potentially have you feeling even more anxious, uncertain & overwhelmed. Yes, delete, unfollow, mute. Stop the noise from entering your world.

  2. Journal & have a Mind Dump book with you at all times. Journal as part of an evening or morning routine, and when you feel overwhelmed have your Mind Dump book ready to write down all your thoughts. You can also make your To-Do lists & start ticking off of your list. This way, you gain some more clarity on your thoughts.

  3. Prioritise your Health, this includes your eating patterns, how you move your body & sleep. Yes, Sleep is probably the most important thing you can do for yourself.

  4. Take stock of your life. You have control over what is happening in your life & what areas of your life you feel you need improvement on. From that, set yourself attainable goals that you can take control of.

  5. When you set Goals, don't aim for the end result, only focus on every single day & what you can do each day to get you to your end Goal. This way you have better control & you don't feel overwhelmed.

  6. Lastly, be in service of others. What is one thing you can do today to be kind to someone else. What is there that you can do to teach & share with others?

I too have taken time off, away from Social Media (I didn't think I would last a day, and here I am... I have done it!), decluttered, muted, unfollowed & really taken the time to go back to what is important. In what can be a very uncertain world, the one thing I know for sure, is that I am my most prized possession & so are you! We are worthy of the Self Discovery work. We are worthy of taking the time to take stock & take back control over our thoughts & actions.

If you have ever felt that you need to take the leap, you can always work with a Life Coach, to get you on the right track. As a qualified Transformation Coach, I love working with women in decluttering their world & build a future self, they love.

There is something to be said for when you quiet the mind.

I recommend that we do it often.

xoxo
